Rhythmic Dance

One way to assess students during dance is to make the students create their own group dances! Here is an example of criteria for their dances and how the dance would be graded!

Hungry, Hungry Hippos

Students performed a Stem Lesson with the game hungry, hungry hippos. They then completed a tally sheet and used those tallies to graph their data!

Vaping: Advocacy

Students had a combination of lecture, discussion and other activities before they started a small advocacy project! The students followed directions given by the teacher on a handout (top left) and used the rubric and grading assessment form to create a poster that advocated against the use of E-cigarettes and other vaping devices!

Cardiovascular Scavenger Hunt

Students were giving a document with various website! They then had to go to those website to find answers to questions about the cardiovascular system! This was a great assignment for when there is a substitute!

Daily Meal Plan

First grade students completed this worksheet during a nutrition lesson where they learned about the five food groups and what a healthy meal should look like. They created a one day meal plan and picked one meal they were excited about trying!

*Students did not finish worksheet possible changes to be made include only having students make one meal or extending the time they have to work on the meal plan. Puta word bank on the sheet or displayed in room.

Respiratory system Test

This was a 25 point quiz/test. It was composed of multiple choice, matching and labeling diagrams. It was used in a 9th grade health class following the respiratory system unit. I used a google form to administer the test but many students complained about this. In the future I would give this as paper test.

Exit Slips

Students completed various types of exits slips to check for understanding of pervious knowledge and what students learned during the lesson. There were exit slips that were planned but there are also choice exit slips the teacher can choose to give if the students were misbehaving or there is extra time in the period.

Muscular System Worksheet

This was an activity 9th grade health students completed during a muscular system unit. The students read the article and answered questions that could be found in the document.
