Getting in the holiday spirit in LVA health & P.E.

Miss Husser's adapted PE class raced around the gymnasium to acquire as much equipment as they could before time ran out. They then had to work together in their mini groups to construct different figures each round!

Can you guess the figure for challenge #1 and #2?

Hungry, Hungry Hippos

I was lucky enough to be able to help conduct a STEM Lesson for some of my first grade students at Tyrone! Here we made a human Hungry, Hungry Hippos game!

4 large buckets

4 Scooters

4 Hula Hoops

4 Cones

Many small plastic balls

What you need:

How to:

The students on the scooters acted as the hippos and tried to capture as much food (plastic balls) in their mouths (buckets) as possible. When the students returned to their corners, the food was transferred to the hula hoops where group-mates counted the balls and tallied how many of each color was collected. When the students returned to their classroom tallies were counted and charts were made!

Holly the Hippo and I think you should give this a try!

Check out some dances!
